These books tell the same story with a different emphasis (much like the Gospels) and it’s nice to have this included. Had they said that "it is God who works in you, both to will and work for his good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13), I would have agreed wholeheartedly. Sure enough the translation there was "virgin" but with the footnote, "Or young woman" and further explanation in the study notes.

An excellent modern english translation with language easily accessible to those who find more tradition bible language problematical.They have reset the text completely for the large print edition, using several hundred more pages instead of making the pages larger. out of 5 stars for NLT Life Application Large-Print Study Bible, Third Edition--soft leather-look, brown, mahogan, red letter (indexed). As is to be expected with such a new Bible, the pages tend to stick together and need to be carefully prised apart to avoid creasing them.

The notes section also includes numerous (over 500) charts, maps, and lists that further add to your understanding of what is happening and how to apply it to your life.The NLT version is great if you want one that's easy to read yet still is close in translation to the original text.
